Rebecca Guy is an Accredited Teaching Member of the West Australian Music Teachers’ Association and has 20 years experience teaching and giving masterclasses nationally and internationally.
After completing her Bachelor of Music at the Australian National University, Rebecca then continued studying in Zurich, Switzerland specializing in extended flute techniques.
Rebecca Guy returned to Perth in 2010 from New York where she worked as a film composer for the post production company World Wide Audio Inc from 2006-2009. Now with a focus on teaching, Rebecca is very passionate about bringing the best out in her students and creating an overall love of music.
Rebecca’s students maintain an “A” grade average for AMEB exams and she has successfully prepared her students for private school music scholarships and entrance into the specialist music programs at Churchlands High School and Perth Modern School. In addition, Students of Rebecca have gone on to study music at university.
In addition to private students at her studio in Wembley, Perth WA, Rebecca Guy also teaches flute and piano at Lake Joondalup Baptist College. You can also see Rebecca playing in various chamber groups and orchestras around Perth including Duo Caliente, Musical Playground and the West Australian Charity Orchestra.
